Just like regular St. Louis folks, celebrities put their pants on one leg at a time, have morning breath and look slimmer when dressed in black. Just like regular divorcing folks, they can also find themselves embroiled in emotionally charged custody disputes with their former spouses.
The details of the divorces and custody battles find their way into mainstream news, probably because we’re all interested in how others deal with problems — and because it’s good to know that the rich, beautiful and famous have problems just as the rest of us do.
The Huffington Post recently ran an article testing readers’ knowledge of facts about celebrity custody battles. We thought we’d share the quiz so you can see how much you retain of information about those who glitter and/or wither in the spotlight.
Here’s the first head-scratcher: Which celebrity took her custody dispute back to court after she said she received bullying e-mails from her ex?
Answer: Christie Brinkley said former husband Peter Cook harassed her via e-mail and also failed to pay more than $30,000 in child support. He countersued, saying she’s an “egomaniac.”
So far, no resolution to their ongoing fight has been reported.
Which actor had visitation rights suspended after a recording of a phone call he made to his daughter was made public?
Answer: Alec Baldwin had visitations suspended in 2007 after calling his daughter a “rude little pig” on the phone. He has since regained custody rights, Huffington reports.
Which basketball star was awarded sole custody during his custody dispute with his former wife?
Answer: Miami Heat star Dwayne Wade was awarded sole custody early last year.
